Things to do around Coffin Bay 3. The Minniribbie Farm, Café and Antique shop (Jindihn Antiques)

Discover the Charm of the Wangary Pig Farm: A True Eyre Peninsula Experience

Nestled just off the Flinders Highway between Coffin Bay and Port Lincoln lies one of the Eyre Peninsula’s best-kept secrets — the Wangary Pig Farm. More than just a working farm, this unique destination offers visitors a hands-on experience with the region’s rural heart and humorous character.

A Quirky Outback Experience

The Wangary Pig Farm is not your average tourist stop. Known for its cheeky signs and a paddock full of happy, well-fed Black Berkshire pigs, it has become a beloved roadside attraction for locals and road-trippers alike. Whether you're snapping selfies with a curious pig or laughing at the tongue-in-cheek slogans dotted around the property, the farm is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Visitors are welcomed to stop by, say hello to the pigs, and enjoy the authentic charm of a true working farm. The pigs — from tiny pink piglets to hefty old boars — are always keen to come over for a feed or a scratch behind the ears.

A Glimpse Into Rural Life

The Wangary Pig Farm gives guests a rare opportunity to connect with life on the land. Chat with the friendly farmers and learn about pig breeding, feeding practices, and the challenges of livestock farming on the wild and beautiful Eyre Peninsula. It’s a great way for families, especially children, to get up close with animals and understand where food really comes from.Educational and entertaining, the farm visit is a welcome break for those traveling through the region and a great talking point long after the trip is over.

A Local Landmark With a Sense of Humour

What really sets the Wangary Pig Farm apart is its personality. With hand-painted signs bearing slogans like “This little piggy went to Wangary” or “You’ve hogged the camera long enough!”, the place blends farming with fun in a way only country Australians know how. It's not unusual to find visitors laughing out loud or stopping the car for a quick photo op.

Plan Your Visit

The Wangary Pig Farm is located just outside the sleepy township of Wangary, less than a 30-minute drive from Port Lincoln and only 15 minutes from Coffin Bay. It’s the perfect pit stop to stretch your legs, let the kids run free, and enjoy something truly out of the ordinary.

Cafe

There is a quirky cafe at the farm serving pork inspired dishes. There home made bacon is delicious and I recommend the Elvis Presley Pancakes with maple syrup, icecream and of course, bacon! At the cafe there are a range of home butchered pork products for sale.

Antiques

The Jindihn Antique shop is full of all sorts of amazing things. LP records, furniture, football cards...You name it .....you can easily spend an hour in the shop and everything is for sale.

No bookings are required, and entry is free, though donations to help with animal feed are always welcome and appreciated. Open Monday- Saturday 10am- 5pm

Whether you’re after a laugh, a lesson, or just a bit of piggy playtime, the Wangary Pig Farm is a down-to-earth, must-see stop on any Eyre Peninsula road trip. Make sure to bring your camera, your sense of humour, and a soft spot for snouts!
